Paying For the Incompetence of Representative Jim Sacia...For the Next 20 Years

Tutty recently received a video file of Republican State Representative Jim Sacia speaking on WFRL radio back in the summer of 2005.  Sacia was responding to a call in question from a listener.

Sacia makes it clear that the legislation which enabled the creation of Mill Race Crossing was done on behalf of John Blum.  Sacia was convinced that the Mill Race Crossing legislation would be good for Stephenson County.

Give a listen to what Jim Sacia said back then, Tutty posted it on You Tube:

Jim Sacia likes to rant about accountability and responsibility but where is his accountability for this entire Blumdoggle?

Jim Sacia did not even know that the legislation he sponsored allowed Stephenson County officials to issue non-noticed, non-referendum public debt.  Tutty would put up a link to the January 19, 2006 Journal-Standard  article which proves that Sacia did not understand the legislation he was sponsoring but this article is only available for purchase from the Journal-Standard web page.

Where is the accountability from Republican Jim Sacia?  Why didn't he have a better understanding of the legislation he not only sponsored but publicly lobbied for as well?  The residents and businesses of Stephenson County are now stuck paying for the incompetence of Representative Sacia.  How can Tutty call it anything but incompetence, Tutty likes to think most people have a general idea of what the results of their actions will be.  Not so with Jim Sacia, he claims he was "surprised" when Stephenson County borrowed money without a referendum to fund Mill Race Crossing, Tutty is convinced that "incompetence" is a good word to use in this situation.

Tutty wonders why Jim Sacia can not explain himself?

As always, yours in honesty, Tutty Baker tutty.baker@gmail.com

  1. I think Jim Sacia knew EXACTLY what he was doing. I'm wondering just how much was sunk into his political campaign fund to do it.

  2. A couple of years ago I found the legislation and the revisions and I believe they all knew what they were doing. The main issue was to be able to borrow money without taxpayer approval! And, be able to play Monopoly with our money, but didn't have all of the details ironed out before making a commitment to buy the land. Trim Rite backed out of the deal and here we sit with a $5.5 million dollar debt and nothing to show for it after 5 years and there is nothing on the horizon to fill space at Mill Race. Nice going John!
